But I guess their soundtrack affiliation that lead to A MOTHERFUCKIN ACADEMY AWARD started here. This sounds identical to When The Smoke Clears and pretty much everything they've done since 99', it has the proto-crunk sound and all that and it's kinda bad and boring. But it sounds exactly like their normal output so I don't even think that fact is worth mentioning.
This is nominally the companion piece to some direct to video movie the guys put out that I will never watch ever. You also get a violent and deadly solo track by the mighty Lord Infamous, and a truly great one by the lyrical T-Rock, so this record is just filled with jewels. The single best moment of the album is when her and Gangsta Boo share the opening verse of "Mafia", probably the best Three 6 posse cut after the 90s. La Chat was a very prominent member of the group around this time and was also absolutely on fire in 2001, so she's featured on a lot of songs here, much to my delight. The production is bright and clear and the album sounds like a million bucks. Not too highly regarded on here it seems, but this soundtrack to a movie I will never watch is easily one of the best crunk-era Three 6 releases. "baby Momma" is a funny song, if you have kids and dont get child support you will like this track.to the rest of yall pay for ur damn kids.
